Museum in the “Kulturhaus Storchenwirt”

We are delighted to have been the lighting designers for the new museum in the “Kulturhaus Storchenwirt”. In the interactive exhibition in Neustadt an der Donau, Bavaria, visitors can experience the history of the historic town. In this place steeped in history, the museum tells how the impressive Danube landscape was formed over time. Tourists can learn more about exciting destinations and cultural highlights. Our lighting concept brings the exhibition to life and bathes it in an inviting atmosphere.

Commissioned by FRAMEGRABBER, Felsch Lighting Design complemented the architecture and exhibition design with lighting that does justice both to the exhibits and to the experience of the interactive permanent exhibition. In Neustadt, our experienced team of lighting designers worked mainly with luminaires integrated into the furniture. The grand gesture is the central lighting element: a continuous luminous ceiling whose curved outline visually connects the exhibition area with the back office.

Light plays three roles in this exhibition: it creates an appealing atmosphere, provides orientation and helps to convey the content. The conditions of the existing building and the luminaires integrated into furniture and architecture were particularly challenging.

Directed light illuminates the exhibits, and the interplay of light and shadow creates the contrast in which the message emerges. In the lounge and rest area, soft light underlines the pleasant atmosphere.

With our feel for space and our lighting know-how, our team helped turn a former inn, the traditional Storchenwirt, into an attractive meeting and information point. It strengthens the bond between residents and their region and helps preserve cultural values.
