FILD at Light + Building

Only just over a year old, the Federation of International Lighting Designers (FILD) will present itself with its own stand at Light + Building in Frankfurt.
Lighting designers mostly work on their own. But only by joining forces can the profession and each individual grow. This will bring our profession lasting recognition. – Markus Felsch, founding member
FILD has set itself ambitious goals to define the profession of lighting designer more clearly: creating uniform and comparable training in Germany and other European countries; establishing the lighting designer as a protected profession; introducing a fee scale and promoting its integration into national fee regulations; presenting the profession to the public; and supporting further training and exchange between internationally active lighting designers.
FILD sees the lighting designer as the professional link between lighting technology and architecture – with the aim that contemporary, state-of-the-art lighting solutions can significantly enhance the architectural design and the design idea of a building or interior. Increasing acceptance of lighting design among architects and interior architects as an independent, highly specialised planning discipline is therefore one of the concerns of the “Federation of International Lighting Designers”. The members of FILD regard themselves as independent of the lamp and luminaire industry. – FILD
